Jason Seal was appointed as Department Veterans Service Advisory of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Department of Hawaii on June 20, 2026 at the 88th VFW Department of Hawaii Convention held at the Ala Moana hotel on Oahu.

Jason served in the Marine Corps from 1982 to 2010. Prior to his retirement he served in the II Marine Expeditionary Force and Marine Corps Installations - East, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.  Jason earned his VFW eligibility while serving with the I Marine Expeditionary Force in Kuwait City during Operation Desert Storm.  His service decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit(x2), the Meritorious Service Medal(x3), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal(x2), Combat Action Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Parachutist Insignia, and various unit citations and campaign medals.  Jason is a veteran of Operations Desert Shield/Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and supported the African Crisis Response Initiative.  He was a member of the U.S. Military Pentathlon Team, participated in an Exchange Officer program with the United Kingdom Royal Marines/42 Commando and a Marine Corps Regional Affairs Officer for Sub-Saharan Africa. 

He became a Life member of the VFW in 2018 and is currently serving in his second year as the Post Commander of VFW Post Number 110 in Honolulu Hawaii.  He is active in numerous Veterans & Civic Organizations. 

Jason was born in Annapolis, Maryland and raised in East Africa (Kenya and Tanzania).  He served as an Aide to a member of the British Parliament.  He has been awarded a Bachelor of Arts from Davis and Elkins College, a Masters of Arts from Webster University and a Masters of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
