Mr. George Barlett was appointed State Adjutant of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Department of Hawai'i on June 14, 2025 at the 87th VFW Department of Hawai'i Convention on Kilauea Military Camp on the Big Island of Hawai'i.

George served in the United States Navy from 1973 to 1993.  He earned his VFW eligibility while serving aboard Navy submarines from 1976 to 1986. In recognition of his service in combat, he received the Navy Expeditionary Medal and the Ship Submersible Ballistic Nuclear (SSBN) Deterrent Patrol Insignia Pin with four awarded stars.

George joined the VFW in 1996 at Post 10154 in Kaneohe, Hawai'i, where he maintains his Gold Legacy Life membership. 

George has 2 kids and resides in Kaneohe, Hawai'i.
