Patsy Takemura

Mrs. Patsy Takemura was elected as the Judge Advocate General (JAG) of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Department of Hawai'i on June 20, 2026 at the 88th VFW Department of Hawai'i Convention at the Ala Moana Hotel, in Honolulu, Hawai'i.

Patsy served in the United States Army from 2001 to 2022 as a Judge Advocate General Corps Officer. She earned her VFW eligibility while serving in Iraq (2004) and South Korea.  In recognition of her service in combat, she received the Iraqi Service Medal.  She has been a licensed attorney in the State of Hawai'i since 1991 and has served in various government positions for the Office of the Public Defender, Corporation Counsel, and State Attorney General Office. She is currently employed as a civilian attorney for the U.S. Army at Ft. Shafter.

Patsy joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars in 2012 at Post 10276 in Honolulu, Hawai'i, and maintains her Bronze Legacy Life membership at VFW Post 10276, Honolulu, Hawai'i. 

She is married to Allen, and resides in Kailua, Hawai'i.
