Rodney Boucher was elected to Senior Vice Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Department of Hawaiʻi on June 20, 2026, during the 88th VFW Department of Hawaiʻi Convention held at the Ala Moana Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.

Mr. Boucher honorably served in the United States Navy from 1976 until his retirement in 2000 as a Radio Master Chief (E-9). He earned his eligibility for VFW membership through overseas service aboard submarines from 1980 to 1982 and again from 1989 to 1990 in support of Operation Just Cause. Throughout his distinguished military career, he served with both conventional and special operations units.

In recognition of his exemplary service and combat contributions, Mr. Boucher received numerous military decorations, including the Combat Action Ribbon, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal (three awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal (two awards), Navy Expeditionary Medal (three awards), Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. He is also Airborne and Military Freefall qualified, with 89 logged parachute jumps.

A dedicated advocate for veterans, Mr. Boucher joined VFW Post 12138 in ʻEwa Beach in 2020 and is a Gold Legacy Life Member. He is a two-time All-American Post Commander and has worked tirelessly to promote veterans’ benefits, entitlements, and services. He remains committed to strengthening partnerships and collaboration among veteran service organizations throughout Hawaiʻi.

Mr. Boucher and his wife, Marlene, reside in ʻEwa Beach, Hawaiʻi.
