Mr. Joshua N. Taueu (JT) serves as the Chief of Staff for the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Department of Hawaiʻi, having been appointed during the 88th VFW Department of Hawaiʻi Convention on June 20, 2026.

A combat veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Taueu served as an Airborne Infantryman from 1997 to 2006 and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom I, Operation Iraqi Freedom I, and Operation Iraqi Freedom IV. His military service is distinguished by numerous awards and qualifications, including the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge.

Mr. Taueu has established a distinguished record of leadership within the Veterans of Foreign Wars. A member of VFW Post 12138 in ʻEwa Beach, Hawaiʻi, he has served in key leadership and administrative positions at the Post, Department, and National levels. His service includes appointments as National Aide-de-Camp, Special Aide-de-Camp, Deputy Chief of Staff, and now Chief of Staff, where he provides strategic guidance and operational oversight in support of the Department’s mission to serve Hawaiʻi’s veterans, service members, and their families.

In his professional career, Mr. Taueu serves as a Logistics Management Specialist with the Department of the Army at Schofield Barracks, Hawaiʻi. He holds a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, bringing extensive experience in organizational management, strategic planning, and leadership development to both his professional and volunteer service.

Committed to veteran advocacy and community engagement, Mr. Taueu is an active member of Veterans of Hawaiʻi and a Hawaiian Royal Society. He resides in ʻEwa Beach, Hawaiʻi, with his wife, Madonna.
