Randy W. Grant was appointed State Chief of Staff of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Department of Hawaii on June 22, 2024, at the 86th VFW Department of Hawaii Convention in Honolulu Hawaii.
Randy served in the United States Air Force from 1983 to 2009. He last Served with the 52nd Civil Engineering Squadron, Spangdahlem Air Base Germany. Randy earned his VFW eligibility serving in Iraq and Korean Defense Service. In recognition of his service, he received Meritorious Service Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster, AF Outstanding Unit Award with 1 oak leaf cluster, AF Good Conduct Medal with 8 oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with 1.service-star, Iraq Campaign Medal with 1 service star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, and Humanitarian Service Medal.
He became a Life member of the VFW in 2010, and currently maintains his Gold Legacy Life membership at VFW Post Number 3292 in Aiea, Hawaii. Randy has served in elected and appointed positions at the Post, and Department levels, culminating with his election as the VFW Department of Hawaii Commander from 2015 to 2016, in which he earned the distinction of All-American status. On the national level, Randy has served on four committees: Iraq/Afghanistan, General Resolutions, Programs, and as the National Aide-de-Camp.
Randy received his Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Maryland Oversees Division.
Randy is employed by the Defense Information Systems Agency as the Chief Command Support Branch, DISA Regional Field Command Pacific.
He is also a life member of American Legion.
Randy and his wife, Naomi, currently reside in Mililani, Hawaii.
