Department of Hawai'i Chief of Staff/Inspector - Air Force

Mr. Randy W. Grant was elected Chief of Staff of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Department of Hawai'i on June 14, 2025 at the 87th VFW Department of Hawai'i Convention on Kilauea Military Camp on the Big Island of Hawai'i.

Randy Grant served in the United States Air Force from NOV 1983 to AUG 2009.  He earned his eligibility for the Veterans of Foreign Wars through overseas service; including a one-year tour at Osan Air Base, South Korea in 2002, where he was awarded the Korean Defense Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Medal while serving in Camp Anaconda/Balad, Iraq in 2007.   

Comrade Grant has a long and dedicated record of service within the VFW at the Post, District, Department, and National levels. He has served in capacities as:

·       Department Commander, VFW Department of Hawai'i (2015–2016), earning All-American honors at the Department level.

·       District Commander for Japan, Department of the Pacific Areas, where he also achieved All-American District Commander recognition.

·       Department Judge Advocate for several years.

·       Department Lead Inspector and Training Instructor on numerous occasions.

·       Post Quartermaster at three different Posts, serving multiple terms.

·       National Committee Member for the Iraq/Afghanistan Committee in 2011 and 2012.

Currently, Randy Grant is proudly serving his second term as Chief of Staff for the VFW Department of Hawai'i, where he continues to provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship in support of the Department’s mission and programs.

Randy and his wife, Naomi, currently reside in Mililani, Hawai'i.
